How much does a corporate headshot cost in Cape Town?
An honest breakdown of what corporate headshot photography costs in Cape Town, and what drives the difference.
The honest answer: anywhere from R500 to R5,000 per person, depending on what you're actually buying.
What's at the bottom end
Mall studios and budget chains charge R500–R900 for a portrait. You get one or two retouched files, harsh lighting, and a generic backdrop. Fine for a passport. Not fine for the leadership page of a serious business.
What's in the middle
Single-session corporate work in Cape Town typically runs R1,500–R3,000 per person. At this level you should expect:
- A proper studio with controlled lighting
- A pre-shoot conversation about wardrobe and direction
- Tethered shooting (you see images on a big screen as we shoot)
- Skilled retouching that doesn't make you look plastic
- Files in colour and B&W, web and print sizes
- 48-hour turnaround
This is where our Essential (R1,950) and Signature (R2,750) sessions sit.
Team and on-location work
Per-head pricing drops with volume. Our team rate is R750 per person in studio. On-site at your office across Cape Town it's R4,500 setup + R750 per head.
What pushes price up
- Major retouching (composite, complex backgrounds)
- Same-day delivery
- Multiple wardrobe changes
- Video/BTS content from the same session
- Photography rights for advertising use
What you're really paying for
Lighting, direction, retouching judgement, and turnaround speed. Anyone with a camera can take a photo. Headshot photography is the small set of decisions that make the difference between technically a portrait and a portrait you're proud to put on LinkedIn.
